INTERNATIONAL ZEMĚ ŽIVITELKA (BREAD BASKET) AGRICULTURAL EXHIBITION
Year 2023: 111 886 visitors • over 600 exhibitors
Země živitelka (Bread Basket) is the largest and most important event of its kind attended by both the professional and lay public, focusing on all fields of the agricultural sector. The agricultural exhibition also promotes Czech food.
The event presents the widest range of agricultural fields in one place (the latest in agricultural technology, hunting, beekeeping, fishing, food or livestock breeding, a comprehensive look at the history of agriculture and current trends, and news in research and education).
CHILDREN'S AGRICULTURAL WORLD
Agriculture as play and exploration – the CHILDREN'S AGRICULTURAL WORLD has become a traditional part of Země živitelka (Bread Basket).
Newly featuring an interactive guide for both young and older visitors. A significant part of the grounds is reserved for play farms, nature trails, a children's farm corner, bouncy castles, forest education, or pumpkin picking. There are also activities for children at exhibitors' stands.
NATIONAL HARVEST FESTIVAL
For all farmers, the end of August means a celebration of that year’s bountiful harvest. On Saturday we will come together to celebrate the NATIONAL HARVEST FESTIVAL. The harvest procession will be led by the highest representatives of the country and government and accompanied by people in costumes with harvest wreaths, majorettes, live music, gamekeepers with birds of prey and hunting dogs, and horses with riders. The opening ceremony of the National Harvest Festival takes place in the Brewery Garden.
AGRICULTURAL FIELDS AND TECHNOLOGY
Individual agricultural areas will be presented across the whole exhibition grounds. The largest part of the exhibition space is devoted to agricultural technology. There will be an attractive accompanying programme held in the presentation areas. Livestock will be housed in Pavilions D1 to D3 and in mobile pens and boxes. Pavilion T1 will be devoted to Czech producers offering quality Czech food, which can be tasted and purchased at discounted prices. The agricultural exhibition is traditionally attended by professional organizations, state institutions and agricultural companies, including the expositions of the Regions of the Czech Republic.
